Day 211 : Lake Titicaca

This morning Toyin and I woke up to begin our adventure from Amantani Island to Taquille Island. After an hour long boat ride we docked at Taquille and began our trek across the island. Along the way I discovered this special lock on many of the island homes.
The island is more or less self-sufficient as they produce several core crops including potatoes. Fish is also a staple in their diet along with rice and Quinoa.

The lovely family that Toyin and I stayed with for a night on Amantani Island. The photo was taken in their mud brick courtyard.
